Ugh, the fashion style in Paris.... If only I could be there right now and live my dreamy Parisian life... Let's go back to reality, because that's not possible at this moment. What is possible tho, is to bring the Parisian style to your own home. And this guide will help you with that!

1. Stick to neutral tones

When you stick to neutral tones, you can create thousands of combinations. The neutral tones also give you that chic and discrete kinda look. These neutral tones are timeless and can be worn for every occasion. The neutral colors are white, beige, grey, khaki and black. In my opinion, a blushy pink tone is also considered a neutral color, and looks gorgeous in combination with other neutral colors, such as white and beige.

2. Invest in High-Quality Timeless Pieces

Parisian women invest in high-quality pieces, such as silky dresses and woolen knits. The timeless pieces will last a very long time, and fit perfectly in your Parisian capsule wardrobe. Invest in for example a cashmere sweater, that you can re-style every season. Or go for a silk midi dress, which can be worn for a night out or in summer on holiday. Other high-quality fabrics are cotton, silk, leather and suede.

How to correctly invest in High-Quality items?

- Look at what the fabric is made of. You want to choose garments made of more natural fibers instead of synthetic fibers.

- Look at the washing instructions of the clothes. Make sure that your clothes will last a long time and how to take care of them.

- Find your style. What is the style you would like to go for? If this is clear to you, it is easier to invest in pieces that match your style. If you invest in a silk midi dress, but you're more a casual type of person, than investing in a dress like this might not be the correct fit.

- Make sure it is comfortable enough for you. If the garment is not comfortable, you are not going to wear it. Since you will be spending some money on it, it is necessary that it fits you perfectly well and that it's comfortable.

3. Pay Special Attention To Detail

Berets, pearl necklaces, tiny little bows in their hair... The Parisian women know how to pay attention to detail. And that's what you should do as well. (Only if you want to ofcourse ;)) Since the color palet you're going for is very basic, you can make your outfit complete and unique by pairing it with gorgeous jewellery and a bag that matches your jewellery and accessoires. One piece of accessoires that can not miss in your wardrobe: a beret. This gives that French touch to your outfit, finishing your outfit and make you look put together and classic.

Classy vintage jewellery and minimalistic jewellery also work well with every outfit and give that classy and Parisian inspired look.

4. Shop Minimalistic Basics

Simplicity is one of the most important things in the Parisian style. Parisian women would go for basics, and pairing these basics with delicate jewellery or accesoires. They go for the effortless chic and classic style, while adding one or two statement pieces to their outfit, such as a big belt or a scarf.

The perfect basics you NEED in your wardrobe:

- Little Black Dress. Duh.

- Light cardigan or sweater (preferably a cashmere or a woolen one ;))

- A black blazer. Effortless and chic. Wear it with a skirt or with jeans, it's up to you.

- White tee. You can style this one with basically everything. Jeans, a skirt, blazer, you name it!

- Black pants. Whether these are jeans or a pantalon, with black pants you can never go wrong and it always looks stylish.

5. Find Your Style - And Stick To It!

This is always difficult, but I managed to find my style, which you can read here. In order to incorporate the Parisian style into your wardrobe, you should know what your style is. If you are into dresses and cute skirts, than you can incorporate for example the natural color tones by buying more natural colored dresses or skirts. If you have a more casual style, you can choose to go for a basic black blazer paired with black pants and a beret. As long as you have figured out what you're style is, you will be able to easily adapt the Parisian fashion style within seconds.

Et voilá, c'est ça! With these five tips you are a way ahead of becoming the dreamy parisian girl you've always wanted to be ;)

Stay safe and I see you next time!

Lots of love,

Marilène
