Welcome to my blog!

Hi, thank you so much for visiting my blog and taking the time to read it! I appreciate it a lot and I hope that you enjoy it.

This is going to be my first post on my blog, so I thought I'd first introduce myself to all of you.

My name is Marilène Engel, I am 19 years old and I live in Rotterdam, which is in the Netherlands. I study International Business and Lanuages and in work at Hunkemöller, which is a lingerie shop. (Really, you should come and visit me there;) ) Furthermore, I like to spend the rest of my time on everything fashion related. I have a fashion inspiration account dedicated to, yes indeed, fashion! I love shooting content for my Instagram account and style different clothes together to create the best outfits.

So why have I started this blog? Well, I think we can all agree that the whole Covid situation has changed our lives upside down. In the beginning of the pandemic, I fell in one big hole, with no end. At least, that's how it felt. (I can be quite dramatic sometimes). But for real, being in lockdown changed me personally. I had loads of spare time, since school didn't continue for a while. I felt isolated and alone, with no future perspective (as I said, I can be dramatic). I knew the lockdown was necessary because this whole pandemic was getting out of hand and I tried to be as possitive as possible, but it was difficult. It was like a mirror was put right in front of me, and I had the feeling as if I had never met this person who was staring back at me in the mirror. It took me two full weeks to get myself together and decide I had to take action. Even though this pandemic is sh*t, I could still make the best out of it. I mean, I had lots of free time that I could invest in other things besides school. I came to the conclusion that there was more for me to do and to discover. All of my friends did cool things and were successful, and I kind of felt like I had no idea what in the heck I was doing with my life. (#dramatic)

One day, I scrolled through Instagram, admiring all of the high quality content influencers were able to shoot. I envied them, and I have for a very long time. It was this day that I thought well girl, you can do this as well. You LOVE fashion, so why don't you do it? See this as an opportunity, and experiment a bit with it. Start your own fashion inspiration account, do shoots with your friends and have fun!

So, here we are. Seven months have gone by and I can say that this was the best choice I could have ever made. Without sounding dramatic or stupid, I definitely feel like this choice has changed my life. I have so much fun shooting content for my page, coming up with new outfits and creating cute videos. I have received so many sweet comments from my followers, my friends and my family.

And since I enjoyed creating content for my Instagram account, I thought I'd expand my horizon and start blogging as well. Writing has always been one ofmy favorite things to do. When I was younger, I wanted to become a journalist. Before that I wantedto become a fashion designer, but that didn't reallywork out.

Writing gives me a very free feeling. I can type anything I want on my own safe space, which is this blog. I write blog posts to share them with people who share the same passion as me: fashion. I sure hope that I can inspire you, and if you have any suggestions, don't hesitate to contact me! I'd love to create content that you would like to see.
