Fashion has always intriged me. I used to copy celebrities' outfits because I wanted to look as stylish as them. I made fashion magazines out of empty papers in which i had drawn clothes like a fashion designer would. I even had a Nintendo game called ... , in which I designed clothes and created a fashion company by myself. In other words: fashion has always been a huge part of my life.

During the pandemic, I came to the conclusion that I drastically wanted to change up my wardrobe. I had decided that I wanted to go for one particular color combination in my wardrobe: nude, beige, white, light pink (kind of blush pink) and black. Every single piece of clothing that deviated from this color combination, could be found in the trash. And yes, I know, it was a very random en drastic decision. But I have to admit, it was one of the best decision I have ever made. Eversince, I wanted to stuck to this color code because it was timeless. Of course, if I saw a blue dress that I per se needed to buy because it was perfect for Christmas or for my birthday, I let myself. But I would think about the purchase twice. I experimented with the color combinations, created outfits with it and searched on Pinterest for inspiration. It took me quite a while, and I'm still not there. But I am getting closer to finding my style.

It can be very difficult to find your own style. I mean, I used to wear satin green blouses with black pants and golden jewellery. Well, I was the personification of a Christmas tree. But that is okay. It is okay to look like a walking neon disco ball. When I was about 11 years old, I had a new obsession: The Coolcat. Every piece of clothing that was neon pink, orange, yellow or green, was appealing to me. I felt like I was in heaven. And I NEEDED that purple tracksuit, accompanied with silver glitters. This was fashion back in the days: neon pink pants, with a denim gilet, white shirt and to top it all off: mint green sneakers.

My point is: it takes time to find your style. It took me almost 20 years, but I think I can say that I kind of found my source of inspiration for my style. I am in love with Paris, and everything that has do to with it. The Parisian fashion style is one that intriges me and inspires me every single day. It's so elegant and sophisticated. I aspire to be like the Parisian women, and I love going on Pinterest to dream away with Parisian inspired pictures. I love following French girls on Instagram who post inspiring content about fashion. I look up to them, and aspire to live the same parisian life one day.

And that's the main reason why I have started my fashion inspiration Instagram account and this blog. I want to inspire other girls to do whatever they love to do where their passion lies. I hope I can contribute to the journey of finding your own style! Helping and inspiring people is one of the most beautiful things there is in my opinion, and that's my goal.

Lots of love,

Marilène
